What is Plastic Pollution?
Plastic Pollution is an accumulation in the environment of synthetic plastic products to the point where they create problems for wildlife and their habitats as well for human populations.
What caused it?
On the go lifestyle requires plastic.
Trying to cut plastic usage is easier said than done, because once you wake up to plastic problem, you see it everywhere: in bags of grapes, in tubes of toothpaste and Tupperware containers, in bottles of dish soap and laundry detergent, in the wrappers of chips, the lining of milk cartons and even your trash can.
Letting go of these will take a lot of effort but it is not impossible.
Additional information:
The planet is swimming in discarded plastic which can cause harm to animals and human health. Can we still put an end to it?
Plastic pollution became one of the most pressing environmental issues, as rapidly increasing production of disposable plastic products overwhelms the world’s ability to deal with them. Plastic pollution is most visible in developing Asian and African nations. But in this developed world, especially in countries with low recycling rates, also has trouble properly collecting discarded plastics which causes rapid increase in plastics thrown or discarded.
